Prescribed Burn Coming Up in Stoney Point/Pointe-aux-Roches

A prescribed burn of invasive Phragmites is scheduled to be conducted next week at the Stoney Point sewage lagoons (south of Tremblay Beach Conservation Area).
The Ontario Clean Water Agency (OCWA), which operates the facility on behalf of the Municipality of Lakeshore, will conduct the burn and the Lakeshore Fire Department is aware of the plans.
The prescribed burn is tentatively scheduled for Thursday, May 2, 2024, but the date may vary depending on weather conditions.

Lakeshore Road 111 between the addresses 766 and 772 will be closed on Tuesday, April 30, 2024, from approximately 9:00 AM to 2:00 PM for a culvert replacement.
Lakeshore and CUPE Reach New Collective Agreement

The Municipality of Lakeshore has reached a collective agreement with workers in the Canadian Union of Public Employees Local 702.4, after Council endorsed the agreement on April 9, 2024, and the union ratified the agreement on Thursday, April 18, 2024.
The agreement, which affects a wide range of Lakeshore’s full- and part-time staff, will be in effect until the end of 2026.

Lakeshore Council Approves 2024 Road Rehabilitation Projects

At the Regular Meeting on Tuesday, April 9, Lakeshore Council approved a bold roads rehabilitation program to be undertaken in 2024.
The approved list of projects totals over 54 kilometers of roads throughout Lakeshore. If successful, the 2024 program’s total length of roadways would equal the work completed over the previous four years.

Drive-Thru Microchip Clinic Coming Up in Lakeshore

The Municipality of Lakeshore, in partnership with the Windsor/Essex Humane Society, invites the public to attend the upcoming drive-thru microchip clinic at the Atlas Tube Recreation Centre, from 10:30 AM to 1:00 PM on Sunday, April 21, 2024 (add to my calendar).
The clinic is open to anyone regardless of the municipality they live in. The clinic will allow attendees to have their dog, cat, or even rabbit microchipped from the comfort of a vehicle. The cost per microchip is $20, cash only.
