Recycling Update in Lakeshore

Starting tomorrow (August 28, 2024), residential recycle collection in Lakeshore will transition from the Essex-Windsor Solid Waste Authority (EWSWA) to Green For Life Environmental Inc. (GFL), who is contracted out by Circular Materials.

Optimist Park Trail Closure

The Optimist Park Trail, which runs around the park's perimeter, will be closed from Monday, August 26, 2024, until Friday, September 6, 2024, weather permitting, for trail rehabilitation!
Residents are asked to respect the work area when using the park during this time. Thank you for your patience.

The Stanley Cup made a whirlwind tour of the Municipality of Lakeshore’s Atlas Tube Recreation Centre on Saturday, August 17, 2024, with a visit by Championship-winning Florida Panther, and Belle River-native, Aaron Ekblad.
Eager crowds arrived early, with some lined up at 6:15 AM. The big turnout was estimated at over 1,100 people.

Council to Consider Partnership with UWindsor’s Centre for Cities

At the meeting on August 13, 2024, Lakeshore Council directed administration to bring back a report on the development of a formal partnership with the University of Windsor’s Centre for Cities.
