Help Plan the Future of Stoney Point Community Park
Lakeshore is seeking community member and park users’ input and ideas about the future of Point Community Park and creation of a community hub.
Residents can submit their ideas via online survey and attend the upcoming Community Visioning Session to be hosted in late Spring.

Water & Property Tax Payments
Property Tax Bills
- Interim property tax bills: final payment due on April 29.
- Final property tax bills: mailed in June, payments due July 29 and Oct. 31.
Water Bills
- Area 1 (east Belle River & east of Rochester Townline): due May 31, July 29, September 30, and November 30.
- Area 2 (West of Rochester Townline): April 29, June 30, August 31, October 31, December 22.
Lakeshore offers a number of convenient payment methods:
- In-person using cash, debit, or cheque (mail and drop box for cheques).
- Pre-authorized payment plans (PAP).
- Telephone or online through your bank.
- Online by credit card (subject to a 2.5% user fee).
- Directly through your mortgage company (for property taxes).

Water Meter Replacement Program Happening Now
The Municipality of Lakeshore is working with Neptune Technology Group to replace water meters throughout the community.
Affected properties will receive an introductory letter from Lakeshore and a follow-up communication from Neptune, including information about how to book an appointment for water meter replacement.
- Appointments will be flexible to fit residents’ availability.
- Appointments are expected to take 30 to 90 minutes to complete.
- New water meters will be installed at no cost.
- The water meter replacement program is mandatory in accordance with By-Law #97-2004.

Alarm Reminder
The Lakeshore Fire Department is asking all residents and property owners to check their smoke & CO alarms, including:
- Checking contacts and replacing old batteries.
- Removing manufacturer packaging.
- Testing units to ensure functionality.
Stay Flood Award in 2022
Learn how you can prepare and protect your property from flooding
With warm weather and an increased chance of heavy rain, Lakeshore is putting the call out for residents to learn about the risk of flooding and what they can do to protect their homes and properties.
Property owners can take advantage of programs to:
- Conduct mini camera inspections to identify problems with your sanitary and storm sewers (One free inspection per property).
- Install backwater valves to protect your property from sanitary sewer surcharging (80% or up to $750 subsidy).
- Install sump pump overflows (release valves) to reduce risk of basement flooding (up to $225 subsidy).
- Disconnect your downspouts to redirect rainwater away from your home ($75 subsidy).

Spring is here and it’s time to start planning your outdoor projects!
If you’re planning to build a swimming pool, fence, or deck, a permit application must be submitted prior to the start of construction.
Please note, swimming pools now require a grading plan when you submit your pool permit application.
To help get your project off the ground, Lakeshore’s Building Division provides the convenience of electronic permit applications.

Project Map Out Now: Find out what’s happening in your neighbourhood
The Municipality of Lakeshore launched a new online tool this year to help residents learn about upcoming capital project work happening in the community.
The map highlights the location of significant projects throughout Lakeshore as well as descriptions, budget information, and stage of the project.
Residents also have the option to search for projects happening in their own neighbourhood.

Marina & Parks Reopening
Spring has sprung and that means Lakeshore’s park facilities and Belle River Marina will be back in action!
Parks Opening Schedule
Lakeshore’s seasonal park amenities, such as washrooms and sports fields, will reopen to the public on Monday, May 2.

Belle River Marina
Belle River Marina reopens for the 2022 season on Saturday, April 30.
The marina ramp ($15 per launch) and the fuel/pump-out docks will be staffed daily from 6:00 AM to 8:00 PM.
