Municipality of Lakeshore offices will be closed on Monday, October 2, 2023, in recognition of National Day for Truth and Reconciliation. The Atlas Tube Recreation Centre will be open for regular hours.

- Join Caldwell First Nation for the Every Child Matters Sacred Fire for the Children at the Northwest Beach in Point Pelee National Park starting at 9:00 AM, with activities at 10:00 AM. Contact cultural.dev@caldwellfirstnation.ca.
- Join Art Windsor-Essex, the University of Windsor Aboriginal Education Centre, St. Clair College Indigenous Student Services, and Can-Am Urban Native Non-Profit Homes for the Orange Shirt Day event starting at 10:00 AM at Art Windsor-Essex located at 401 Riverside Drive West, Windsor.
- Visit the Town of Amherstburg for the Maamwii Bimose “Walking Together” with Indigenous People event featuring demonstrations of dancing, drumming and storytelling. Learn and listen from Elders and motivational speakers, shop at the Indigenous vendors selling unique arts, crafts and gifts, and sample Indigenous food at the Park House Museum.
Truth and Reconciliation Resources:
- Read the reports issued by the Truth and Reconciliation Commission of Canada, including the 94 Calls to Action and the history of Canada's residential schools.
- Discover the stories of residential school survivors with The Witness Blanket from the Canadian Museum for Human Rights. Inspired by a woven blanket, the project is a large-scale work of art. It contains hundreds of items reclaimed from residential schools, churches, government buildings and traditional and cultural structures from across Canada.
