Cloudpermit platform to be used starting January 3
Starting on January 3, 2023, all of Lakeshore’s building permit applications will be made using the online Cloudpermit platform.
The platform, which is used by local governments in the region and across North America, will allow applicants to submit applications and related documents, as well as receive updates and issued permits.
“This is another step towards modernizing Lakeshore’s services for residents and stakeholders," said Tammie Ryall, Lakeshore’s Corporate Leader – Growth and Sustainability. "The platform will be familiar to many in the development community, and Lakeshore’s building team will be there to help local homeowners navigate the new system.”
Cloudpermit informational videos, step-by-step application guides, as well as an applicant information portal are available online.
For questions about the building permit application process, call 519-728-2700 ext. 205 or email Building@Lakeshore.ca. Individuals seeking additional assistance with the online permit application process will be asked to make an appointment.
Planning applications are expected to be rolled out using the Cloudpermit platform later in the year.
As a reminder, all prospective applicants should first review if their property is within the jurisdiction of the Essex Region Conservation Authority or the Lower Thames Valley Conservation Authority. If required, a copy of the Conservation Authority’s project approval must be submitted with the building permit application.
