Municipality of Lakeshore offices will be closed on Monday, November 11, 2024, in recognition of Remembrance Day. The Atlas Tube Recreation Centre will remain fully operational.
"Remembrance Day provides our communities with a rare moment to honour the sacrifices made by our brave veterans and their families," said Mayor Tracey Bailey. "It is often easy to overlook the significance of Remembrance Day, but it remains vital that we pause and reflect on the dedication of those who have served our nation."
Residents are invited to the following public Remembrance Day events in Lakeshore to remember and honour our Veterans:
Armistice Day Banquet
- Join the Royal Canadian Legion Branch #241 Comber and Royal Canadian Legion Branch #324 Wheatley
Saturday, November 9, 2024, cocktails at 6:00 PM and dinner at 7:00 PM
Hosted at the Comber Legion (6420 Main St, Comber, ON N0P 1J0)
$35 - Chicken and Beef Dinner catered by the Car Barn

Parade and Ceremonies
- Saturday, November 9, 2024 (rain or shine), Parade will begin at 1:00 PM, Ceremonies start at approximately 1:30 PM.
Parade Route: Notre Dame St. in front of the Legion, to Ouellette, to First Street, to the Cenotaph in Belle River.
Following the ceremony at 2:00 PM, participants will parade back to the Legion where there will be food and drinks provided.
