Active Investigation in Lakeshore

County Road 42 and Lakeshore Road 113

The public can expect an increased police presence around County Road 42 and Lakeshore Road 113.

On October 14, 2026, at approximately 10:26 a.m., the Essex County Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) attempted to stop a motor vehicle around County Road 42 and Lakeshore Road 113 in the Municipality of Lakeshore.

The vehicle failed to stop and was located unoccupied on Lakeshore Road 113 where the two male occupants ran into a field between Lakeshore Road 113 and Lakeshore Road 115 south of County Road 42.

One male has been located and arrested.

The Essex County OPP, OPP Emergency Response Team (ERT) and OPP K9 Units are currently tracking the other male in the area.

As a result, the public can expect an increased police presence and are asked to avoid the area during the investigation.
