Council Meeting Summary: February 24, 2026

The following is a brief recap of the main issues and matters that Council dealt with at the meeting held on February 24, 2026. A video recording of the meeting will also be posted at Lakeshore.ca/TV. 

These highlights are not official minutes of the meeting and are meant solely for the purpose of general communications. The approved minutes provide the only official record of Council Proceedings and decisions.  

Council: 

• Received the following reports for information only: 

• • Essex-Windsor Solid Waste Authority - Green Bin Program Promotion and Education 

• • 2025 Lakeshore Drinking Water Systems Annual and Summary Reports 

• • Strategic Objectives Update  

• Expressed opposition to the pursuit or development of a separate County-administered social services delivery system; affirmed its support for the existing Regional Consolidated Municipal Service Manager (CMSM) model for Social Services and encouraged collaborative, evidence-based discussions focused on service improvement within the current framework rather than structural duplication. Further, requested that the County of Essex and the City of Windsor revisit the shared service agreement, looking for areas of mutual agreement, seek out areas for improvement, while also looking to incorporate homelessness into that agreement.
