Council Meeting Summary: February 27, 2024

The following is a summary of issues and matters that Council dealt with at the meeting held on February 27, 2024. A video recording of the meeting will also be posted at Lakeshore.ca/TV.

 These highlights are not official minutes of the meeting and are meant solely for general communications. The approved minutes are the only official record of Council Proceedings and decisions.

Council:

•  Held a public meeting under the Planning Act and approved Zoning By-law Amendment ZBA-2-2024 to rezone the lands known municipally as 0 Creekside Road (located on the south side of Creekside Road and west of Baptiste Road) from “Agriculture (A)” to “Agriculture Zone Exception 118 (A-118)”. [Key Map, Preliminary Concept]

• Approved the extension of exemption for Part Lot Control for Part of Lots 63, 67, 68, 71, 75, 80, 82 to 85 (inclusive) on Registered Plan 12M-657 in the Municipality of Lakeshore (PLC-01-2024, River Ridge Phase 6).

• Supported the resolution by the County of Renfrew regarding Rural and Small Urban Municipalities - Affordability of Water and Wastewater Systems.

• Approved By-law 26-2024 to adopt the 2024 Budget, and By-law 27-2024 to authorize grants for 2024.

• Received the presentation of the new Chain of Office for the Municipality of Lakeshore and directed Administration to draft a Chain of Office policy.

• Directed Administration to request the Essex County District School Board meet with Mayor Bailey, as well as provincial representatives, regarding support to keep the track at Belle River High School.
