Council Meeting Summary: March 24, 2026
The following is a brief recap of the main issues and matters that Council dealt with at the meeting held on March 24, 2026. A video recording of the meeting will also be posted at Lakeshore.ca/TV.

Council:

Approved Zoning By-law Amendment Application ZBA-01-2026 (Zoning By-law 2-2012, as amended), to rezone the lands known legally as, Part of Lot 1, Registered Plan 898, Maidstone; designated as Part 1 on Plan 12R-30334; Lakeshore, being part of the Property Identifier Number 75004-0193(LT), from “Residential Waterfront – Watercourse Zone Exception 2” (RW1-2) to “Residential Waterfront – Watercourse” (RW1).

Directed Administration to continue engagement with Essex Energy Corporation to expand the existing solar photovoltaic (PV) system on the rooftop at the ATRC; and to commence negotiations with Essex Energy Corporation for a solar lease agreement and bring back to Council for approval.

Received the following reports for information only:

Directed Administration that the Spay and Neuter Voucher value be increased from $50.00 to $75.00 and the number of vouchers available be reduced from 100 to 66 to align with the allotted funding.

Approved the continuation of the Rat Abatement Pilot Project and authorize an extension of the program until such time as the total funding allocation previously approved by Council, in the amount of $10,000, has been fully expended.

Approved entering into an agreement with Lakeshore Minor Baseball Association to run concessions at Ladouceur Lions Park during the baseball season.

Directed Administration to review the environmental remediation costs submitted by the Developer of the property located at 0 County Road 27 (Roll No. 010000043000000) in South Woodslee and report back to Council with recommendations regarding a potential reduction and/or waiver of Development Charges applicable to the subject lands.
