Facility Closures and Air Quality Update
The Municipality of Lakeshore Town Hall and other facilities will be closed and operating at reduced capacity today.
Due to poor air quality in the Windsor-Essex Region the Municipality of Lakeshore will operating at reduced capacity with several Municipal services being delayed during this time.
Environment Canada issued an orange air quality warning that remains in effect across Windsor-Essex as smoke from wildfires in northwestern Ontario affects the region. Windsor-Essex County Health Unit officials are urging everyone effected to limit time outdoors and consider postponing outdoor sports, activities, and events.
In response to poor air quality conditions, the Municipality of Lakeshore is taking precautions to protect residents, staff, and facility users. The following facilities will be closed until further notice:
- Town Hall
- Operations Department
- Lakeshore Marina Services
- There will be no marina services available. Overnight security will still be on site as scheduled.
- All parks, sports fields, and outdoor amenities
- Unable to perform our standard daily maintenance.
At this time, we are unable to confirm how conditions will effect municipality services tomorrow, however, The Municipality of Lakeshore will continue to monitor conditions and provide updates as they become available. We apologize for the inconvenience and thank you for your patience. General inquiries can be directed to our Public Service Unit at PublicService@Lakeshore.ca
