Lakeshore Declares Significant Weather Event
January 25, 2026 - The Municipality of Lakeshore has declared a Significant Weather Event due to ongoing snow. Residents should avoid non-essential travel.
Environment Canada issued a Snowfall Warning for the region with forecasts of up to 20 cm of snow expected throughout the day.
During the Significant Weather Event, Lakeshore will continue to make every effort to maintain roads.
Snow clearing will focus on priority routes. Secondary roads, sidewalks, and municipal parking lots may take longer than normal to be cleared.

Background
- The declaration of a Significant Weather Event is defined in Ontario Regulation 239/02.
- The declaration is in effect until further notice. When the Significant Weather Event has ended, a notice will be distributed to local media and via Lakeshore’s website and social media accounts.
