Lakeshore Offices to Close for National Day for Truth and Reconciliation, 2025
Municipality of Lakeshore offices will be closed on Tuesday, September 30, 2025, in recognition of Orange Shirt Day (also known as National Day for Truth and Reconciliation). The Atlas Tube Recreation Centre will be open for regular hours.
"This is an important day that commemorates the tragic history of residential schools in our country, and we encourage staff and residents to learn and reflect on their role in truth and reconciliation," said Mayor Tracey Bailey.
In recognition of the day, Lakeshore staff have been invited to wear orange shirts or Orange Shirt Day pins on Friday, Monday, and Tuesday.
