Lakeshore Takes Back-to-Back Wins at Local Truck Roadeo
Scott Fick to Compete at Provincial Competition in September

Scott Fick, an Equipment Operator with the Municipality of Lakeshore, recently took first place at the regional Safety Truck Roadeo hosted by the Association of Ontario Road Supervisors (AORS).
The event was held in LaSalle on July 7, 2026, and brought together more than 30 snowplow drivers from municipalities across Essex County to test their safety knowledge, technical skills, and professional driving abilities.
Fick’s win marks the second consecutive year that a Municipality of Lakeshore Equipment Operator has taken the top spot at the regional competition. Last year, Lakeshore’s Ron Duquette claimed first place and advanced to the Provincial Safety Truck Roadeo.
“Congratulations to Scott on this impressive achievement. We are proud to see Lakeshore represented at the provincial level for a second year in a row. It is truly a testament to the skill and dedication of our Public Works team, and we wish him the best of luck in Owen Sound.”
- Mayor Tracey Bailey
Each year, local chapters of AORS host Truck Roadeos to promote safety, courtesy, and professional public works driving skills in a competitive environment. The competition tests participants on trucks equipped with snowplows and wings and includes a pre-trip inspection, an obstacle course designed to simulate real-world scenarios, and a written test.
Fick, along with Shane Beausoleil of the County of Essex, will move on to represent the region at the Provincial Safety Truck Roadeo on September 23, 2026, in Owen Sound.
