Mayor's Message: Passing of Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth II

Message from Mayor Tom Bain

"On behalf of Council and residents of the Municipality of Lakeshore, I want to offer my deepest condolences on the passing of Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth II.

As the longest-reigning monarch in the history of Canada, and the Commonwealth, she has been a steady presence and reminder of our shared history.

While opinions about the role of the Monarchy in our country may vary, there is no doubt she will be remembered and honoured for her leadership and lifelong commitment to public service."

Flags at all of Lakeshore’s facilities will be flown at half-mast until she is laid to rest.
