Water Meter Replacement Program Continues

The rollout of Lakeshore’s water meter replacement program will continue starting next week. 

The program will see Lakeshore staff working to replace over 600 water meters throughout the community. These replacements will update water meter technology tprovidmoraccurate and efficient water usage readings. 

Residents in targeted areas will receive a notice by mail. The communication will include more information about the program and how to book an appointment. The homeowner will be asked to schedule an appointment that is expected to take 30 to 60 minutes to complete.

Background 

  • Residents are asked to clear the area around the existing water meter to ensure technicians have space to work.
  • The new water meters will include radio transmitters which will allow readings to be taken remotely.
  • The replacement program is mandatory, per By-Law #97-2004.
