Winter Safety Reminder: Move Cars Off Local Roads

The Municipality of Lakeshore is reminding residents to move vehicles off roads whenever possible during and after snowfall.

Parked cars can block the way for snow plows, which slows down snow clearing operations. Parked vehicles should stay off the street until clearing is complete. This may take 24 to 36 hours after snowfall ends, depending on the amount of snow.

Vehicles parked in areas that are impeding snow plowing operations may receive a notice on their vehicle or at their residence.

Other winter safety tips:

  • Keep garbage and recycle bins on your lawn and off the roads. Ensure they are visible from the road.
  • Maintain a safe driving distance from all snow plows and service vehicles.
  • Refrain from shovelling snow onto roads.
