What is this event?
- A free, informal drop-in event hosted Lakeshore staff.
- Designed to help landowners and small-scale developers explore housing opportunities on their property.
- Focused on Accessory Residential Units (ARUs) and “Missing Middle” housing (semi-detached, duplex, triplex, fourplex, townhouse, and walk-up apartment).
- Includes information on Lakeshore’s newly launched Housing Community Improvement Plan (CIP) and available incentives.
Who should attend?
- Homeowners considering:
- Additional Residential Units (basement suites, granny suite, garden suite, etc)
- Landowners curious about:
- Duplexes, triplexes, and small multi-unit housing
- Small-scale builders and developers
What to expect at the event
- One-on-one, high-level conversations with a Lakeshore Planner
- Staff will:
- Pull up your property information through mapping software
- Discuss what types of housing may be appropriate based on current zoning and policies
- Explain the next steps if you want to build
- Share how the Housing CIP can help support your project
