HomeBusiness and DevelopmentCommunity ProfileLocation

Situated in southern Ontario along Lake St. Clair, Lakeshore's affordable lakefront community enjoys over 35 kilometres of waterfront, low taxes, a high quality of life and competitive labour costs. Highway 401 bisects Lakeshore with five exits within the municipality.

Whether you want to live on the water, in our urban Belle River community, upscale Russell Woods, rural communities of Woodslee or Comber, French communities of Stoney Point/Pointe aux Roches or St. Joachim, or our unique community of Lighthouse Cove where every home has waterfront and lake access, we have a home that suits your needs - affordably.

Do you like the water?

Lakeshore's Belle River Marina is a full service deep water marina with 250 seasonal and transient docks. Lakeshore boasts several other marinas along our waterfront.

Enjoy Sports?

A short drive to Detroit brings you professional NHL hockey, NFL football, MLB baseball and NBA basketball.

Love to Golf?

There are 24 courses in the Windsor-Essex region and with our weather you can golf for nine months or more.
Love Concerts?

This area brings in top names from all music genres.  If you want to see a concert, the Windsor-Essex-Detroit area is the place to be.

There  are a wide variety of venues to choose from, including the Colosseum at Caesars Windsor, Capitol Theatre, Windsor Symphony Orchestra, and the Windsor Art Gallery.

In Detroit, venues include the Fox Theatre, Little Caesars Arena, Fillmore  Detroit, the Majestic, Aretha Franklin Amphitheatre, DTE Energy, Hart Plaza, Freedom Hill and many, many more.

Lakeshore's Unique Region

This region is at the heart of the richest consumer market in the world as more than 50 percent of the North American population is within a day's drive. There are 4.5 million people in the adjacent areas of Detroit and south-east Michigan and the trade corridor handles one-third of US-Canada trade. In Lakeshore, you are only 20 minutes away from the busiest commercial border crossing in North America, with $500 million in daily trade.

Lakeshore's Belle River Community currently has a Community Improvement Plan which offers various opportunities and incentives to business owners, including grants and grant-backs for various charges and exemptions from fees.
