Professor Bruce Elman was appointed as the Integrity Commissioner for the Town of Lakeshore in July, 2019. The role of the Integrity Commissioner is to investigate complaints relating to the Code of Conduct for elected official and/or members of local boards. If the Integrity Commissioner determines that there was a contravention of the Code of Conduct, the Integrity Commissioner may recommend a reprimand or suspension of the remuneration of the member for a period of up to 90 days.
The Integrity Commissioner also provides advice to members of Council respecting the Code of Conduct and provides education/training to Council and staff.
