Accessibility Advisory Committee |
Lakeshore's Accessibility Advisory Committee provides advice and recommendations to Council on various aspects of accessibility within the municipality. The Municipal Accessibility plan, reviewed by the Lakeshore Accessibility Advisory Committee and approved by Council helps to identify, remove and prevent barriers to allow individuals in the Municipality of Lakeshore to participate in the life of the area. Arts Advisory Committee |

Community Services Advisory Committee |
Provides advice and recommendations to Council in relation to issues surrounding Parks, Recreation and Facilities; linked to policies, joint projects, priorities, environmental concerns, user fees and rates, etc. Municipal Liaison contact: Division Leader - Community Services at 519-727-0470 |
Heritage Advisory Committee |
The Heritage Advisory Committee is a volunteer committee that was established to advise Council on matters related to heritage conservation. Council consults this Committee on decisions to designate a property, part of a property or district as heritage under the Ontario Heritage Act. Designation protects heritage against demolition and damaging alterations. The Committee will advise Council when the Town receives applications to demolish/remove structures from designated properties. An inventory of heritage resources within Lakeshore is prepared and monitored by the Committee. It contains a list of properties that have been identified for their historic, architectural, and/or archaeological value, as well as properties that have been officially designated as heritage by the Municipality. Other responsibilities of the Committee include educating the community about the heritage resources within the community, conducting site visits to designated as well as proposed heritage properties, and providing input on land use plans and covenants. Flood Task Force |
The Flood Task Force was created by Council to develop a plan to prepare with Flooding events in Lakeshore. |
Youth Advisory Committee |
The Youth Advisory Committee consists of nine youth representatives between the ages of 13 - 23 and two members of Council. The Youth Advisory Committee provides advice to Municipal Council and Administration on issues that affect youth in the Municipality of Lakeshore. The Municipality of Lakeshore's Youth Advisory Committee will report directly to the Community and Development Services department and act as advisors to Administration and Municipal Council. Adult advisors and Youth Advisory Committee members over the age of 18 years, are required to obtain a criminal reference check prior to participation. Dog Pound |
The Dog Pound is a joint initiative, administered by the Municipality of Lakeshore, in partnership with the Town of Essex, Town of LaSalle and Town of Tecumseh. The Committee is comprised of a member of Council of each of the member municipalities, who meet as needed to discuss budget and policy issues related to the Dog Pound. E.L.K. |
Pursuant to an agreement among the municipalities of Lakeshore, Kingsville, and Essex, E.L.K. Energy was formed to provide hydro-electric services to those communities. |
Essex Region Conservation Authority (E.R.C.A) |
The Essex Region Conservation Authority is responsible for approvals for construction and filling on floodplains and for alterations to river or stream channels. This permit process ensures that development will not create risks to public safety and that the natural features of the watershed are protected. |
Union Water Supply System Joint Board of Management |
The Union Water Joint Board of Management is responsible for overseeing the operations of the Union Water Supply System serving Leamington, Kingsville and parts of Essex and Lakeshore. Please visit the Union Water Supply System website for meeting dates and other information. |

The Lower Thames Valley Conservation Authority is a watershed-based partner, working with the local community providing services and information to efficiently protect and enhance the environment for present and future generations. |

Committee of Adjustment |
The Committee of Adjustment was appointed by Council to hold hearings under the Planning Act with respect to minor variances, consents, enlargements, extensions or changes to legal non-conforming uses; consent to mortgages, partial discharge of mortgages, validation of title, access right-of-ways, easement and leases over 21 years. |
Police Services Board |
The Police Services Board is responsible for the provision of police services in the Municipality, pursuant to the Ontario Police Services Act. The Committee is comprised of the Mayor and one additional member of Council, one community member appointed by Council and two members appointed by the Province of Ontario. Drainage Board |
