Upcoming Changes to Recycling Collection
Starting in January 2026, recycling collection will no longer be a municipal (EWSWA) responsibility. Circular Materials will be the new administrator across Ontario and they have hired Green For Life Environmental Inc. (GFL) to provide residential curbside collection.
Information in the 2024 Collection Calendar remains the same, but residents must have their recycling out by 6:00 AM.
Read the fact sheet about the changes.
Garbage Collection
Green for Life (GFL) collects garbage, recycling, and yard waste on behalf of the Municipality of Lakeshore. To find out when your collection dates are, please refer to the collection calendar.
If you have questions or concerns with respect to your garbage or yard waste, contact us at 519-728-2700 or PublicService@Lakeshore.ca.
Christmas Tree Drop-Off
Natural Christmas trees are a great addition to any holiday celebration, but they do not go by the road or in the garbage. Christmas trees can be dropped off at these locations until the end of January each year:
- Comber Community Centre (7100 Community Centre St)
- Centennial Park (1031 Park St)
- Leffler Park (405 Old Tecumseh Road)
- Shanahan Park (1465 Lakeshore Rd 203)
- Libro Community Centre (1925 S Middle Rd)
Reminder, these locations are not for dropping off normal garbage or yard waste, only Christmas trees. Leaf bags and yard waste must only be put out on your regular yard waste collection days.
