Trees

The Municipality of Lakeshore implements tree planting in new subdivisions in accordance with the Subdivision Agreements.  Having a tree on your property has many benefits:

• cuts cost of energy bills
• prevents soil erosion
• increases property value
• improves overall air quality
• provides shade in the summer months
• prevents water pollution
• reduces ultra-violet rays from neighbourhood

What types of trees does the Town plant?

• Autumn Blaze Maple
• Pear Chanticleer
• Red Sunset Maple
• American Linden
• Honey Locust
• London Plane

The Municipality of Lakeshore will maintain all trees contained within any of its right-of-ways, public areas and parks.  If you notice that a tree requires some maintenance, please contact at 519-728-2700.  However, if the tree is touching hydro wires, please contact your hydro company (E.L.K. or Hydro One).
