May 4 to 10 is Drinking Water Week in Lakeshore!
Drinking Water Week is an annual opportunity for communities across Lakeshore to highlight the importance of safe and reliable drinking water. The week will feature educational posts and videos about Lakeshore’s drinking water system and the staff who support it.
Key Facts
- The provincial government, through the Ministry of the Environment, Conservation and Parks, regulates municipal drinking water systems. Water quality standards are set out in:
- Safe Drinking Water Act
- 2002 Ontario Regulation 169/03 (Water quality standards)
- Ontario Regulation 170/03 (Drinking water systems)
- Learn about Lakeshore’s Drinking Water Quality Management Standard (DWQMS).
