The Stanley Cup will make its way to the Municipality of Lakeshore with an appearance by Championship-winning Florida Panther, and Belle River-native, Aaron Ekblad, on Saturday, August 17, 2024. Residents and local media are invited to see the Cup from 9:10 AM to 10:30 AM at the Atlas Tube Recreation Centre (Renaud Room. ).

Lakeshore Council and municipal staff are mourning the loss of Ward 2 Councillor Patrick “Paddy” Byrne. Councillor Byrne passed away peacefully, surrounded by family and loved ones, on July 25, 2024, at the age of 71.

At the meeting on June 18, 2024, Lakeshore Council appointed Justin Rousseau as Interim Chief Administrative Officer, effective June 26, 2024. Rousseau has served the Municipality of Lakeshore since 2021, when he was named Corporate Leader- Chief Financial Officer (CFO).

Lakeshore Council held a constructive round of discussions as part of the ongoing update to the municipality’s Water and Wastewater Master Plan, a document which is expected to guide water and wastewater infrastructure investments over the next two decades. Council heard from Administration and representatives from Jacobs, the consulting firm conducting the master plan update, who provided a summary of the planning activities to date.
