Lakeshore is home to a population of 40,410 an increase of 10.4% from 2016. The Municipality is welcoming a boom in population with high education and household income levels.
Lakeshore is approximately a 30 minute drive down Highway 401 to the Canada and the United States border. With over 1/3 of all bi-national trade crossing the Ambassador Bridge annually, Lakeshore is ideally situated for businesses to capitalize on the major U.S. economy and 401 access to other parts of Ontario.
Our north shore boasts a 250 slip marina, lakefront park and the largest beach on Lake St. Clair. The majority of urban area is concentrated around County Road 22, providing a direct link to Tecumseh (population 25,000) and Windsor (population 200,000+) We offer low taxes and a high quality of life.
As for major industry and employers, we have a heavy concentration of auto related supply plants and tool and mold shops, as well as a labour force for similar industry in Windsor and region. Commercial property is concentrated along County Rd 22.
Lakeshore is open for business with several vibrant areas, available land, a fully serviced business park and the welcoming atmosphere in our villages and agricultural community.
The community is proud of its agricultural roots and increasingly diverse economic base. We also have the busiest highway in the world – Highway 401, with 5 on/off ramps throughout the municipality and close promixity to the United States border.
