Town of Lakeshore Engineering Services advises that the water has receded to the edges of the road on Lakeshore Park and Sunset View in the Deerbrook Area of the Town.
Driving with caution is advised on lake front roads due to areas of water that are slowly receding but still may be encroaching into the traveled portion of the roads.

High Water in Lighthouse Cove
Lighthouse Cove is experiencing high water and water on roadways due to the wind and flow from the Thames River. The Federal Dock is closed off and some roads in the area are reduced to one lane and barricades have been installed. Pickled sand has been applied in these areas to help with traction due to forecasted freezing temperatures.

Update on January 11th weekend weather event:
Lakeshore’s Engineering and Infrastructure (EIS) crews and management team began preparing for the weekend forecast well in advance and pulled some extremely long hours keeping on top of everything. EIS is reporting that while drainage was slow as a result of the high volume of rain, all our pumps and drainage infrastructure continued to function as intended. The Town requests that during this heavy rainfall and for approximately 2 hours after, that you avoid heavy sanitary sewer use such as laundry, showers/baths, dishes, etc. This will provide an opportunity for the sanitary sewer to manage the flows generated by the heavy rainfall.
