Hydrant Flushing
Occasionally, you will see Town staff discharging water from fire hydrants. The Town's Water staff releases water from the hydrants as part of its annual flushing program. Hydrant flushing is a normal maintenance procedure and may result in customers experiencing rusty or milky water conditions. Please check when running water and if discolouration occurs, run cold water taps until the water clears. If your water does not run clear, wait a few minutes and run the water again. If this does not clear the water, contact the Town's Environmental Services Department at 519-728-2488. Hydrant flushing may occur between the hours of 7:00am and 3:00pm.
All customers should note that flushing of watermains may be required without notification at various times throughout the year in order to ensure water quality. Thanks for your cooperation, if you have any questions please call the Town's Environmental Services Department at 519-728-2488.
