Local Government Week Starts Sunday

The Municipality of Lakeshore joins communities across the Province of Ontario to celebrate Local Government Week, which runs from October 16 to 22.

This week recognizes the significant role that municipal governments play in providing services and amenities to citizens across Ontario. 

“From the roads and sidewalks we travel, to the water we drink, to the parks and facilities we enjoy every day, local governments have a direct impact on our lives,” said Truper McBride, Lakeshore’s Chief Administrative Officer. “This week is a reminder of that work, as well as the team of incredibly talented and knowledgeable individuals, from Council members to frontline staff, who take pride in serving the citizens and communities of Lakeshore.” 

Throughout the week, the Municipality will share educational resources online and via social media, starting with the Association of Municipalities of Ontario’s Municipal 101.
