Lakeshore's annual pothole-filling operations start to roll out this week, with crews prioritizing high-traffic roads.
Local roadways have faced particularly difficult conditions this year with several freeze-thaw cycles. The fluctuations in temperatures have caused snow to melt and then refreeze, which expands small cracks in roads and creates potholes. Recent wintry weather has also delayed the start of pothole-filling, as staff have focused on snow clearing and salting local roads.

Lakeshore’s 2024 collection calendar is now available online and has been mailed out to residents and businesses through Canada Post. Residents can expect to have their copy in the mail later this week or early next week!

Residents are invited to two Disaster Recovery Assistance for Ontarians (DRAO) virtual information sessions, run by the Government of Ontario, held on February 15th, 2024 at 7:00 pm and February 22nd, 2024 at 6:30 pm. These sessions are aimed at helping residents and small businesses/not-for-profits/farms affected by the 2023 Southwestern Flood, in the approved activation area, apply for the DRAO program. Lakeshore Moves Forward with Customer Service Improvement

At the meeting on January 30, 2024, Lakeshore Council approved, in principle, the next phase of customer and public service improvements for the municipality.
Council directed Administration to bring back a report with a final Customer Service policy along with an implementation plan that outlines the potential cost of a customer service tracking system.
